Common Board Types for Boards

2022-10-19 A circuit board is simply a board containing integrated circuits and other electronic components. Two commonly used panels are FR-4 board and CIM-3 board. Both boards are flame retardant. FR-4 type plate is made of electronic grade alkali free glass fiber cloth dipped in flame retardant brominated epoxy resin, one or two sides covered with copper foil, by hot pressing copper clad laminate. The SEM-3 plate is a copper clad laminate made of electronic grade alkali free glass non-woven cloth impregnated with flame retardant brominated epoxy resin as the insulating layer in the middle. The two sides of the non-woven cloth are each covered with a copper foil on one or two sides of electronic grade alkali free glass fiber cloth impregnated with flame retardant brominated epoxy resin.
The following types of boards are used more in practical engineering:
1. Glass fiber copy epoxy plate. FR-4
2. Composite material epoxy plate zd. CEM-3
3. Paper fiber epoxy board. CEM-1
In addition, ceramic substrate PCB and aluminum substrate PCB are often used in the environment where heat dissipation is required.
In some special applications there are copper substrate, iron substrate PCB.
Circuit boards are classified according to substrate: flexible circuit boards, rigid circuit boards and rigid and flexible separation boards.
1, flexible PCB board (flexible board)
Flexible boards are printed circuit boards made of flexible substrates, which have the advantage of being able to bend and facilitate the assembly of electrical components. FPC has been widely used in aerospace, military, mobile communications, laptops, computer peripherals, PDAs, digital cameras and other categories or products.
2, rigid PCB board
It is made of paper base (usually used for single side) or glass cloth base (often used for double side and multi-layer), pre-preimpregnated phenolic or epoxy resin, and then laminated with copper foil on the surface side or both sides. This PCB copper clad sheet, we call it a rigid board. A rigid PCB is a printed circuit board made of a rigid substrate that is not easy to bend and has a certain degree of toughness. Its advantage is that it can provide certain support for the electronic components attached to it.
3, rigid and flexible separation PCB board (rigid flexure separation board)
Rigid and flexible separation board refers to a printed circuit board containing one or more rigid and flexible areas, composed of rigid and flexible board laminated together. The advantages of rigid and flexible separation plate are that it can not only provide the support of rigid printing plate, but also have the bending characteristics of flexible plate, which can meet the needs of 3D assembly.
